Responsibilities

As the Vice President of Finance for JMP Engineering, I am responsible for leading the Finance, IT and Procurement departments. My focus is on strategic planning, budgeting, long-term forecasting, and acquisition planning, as well as managing our working capital. Having been with JMP Engineering for over 12 years, the last five years in my current role, I have an in-depth knowledge of our operations, our history, and our culture and apply that in how I approach everything that I do. I have a passion for leading others and have now been directly involved with the accounting & legal portions of three acquisitions.

Throughout my history at JMP, I have played numerous roles in the Finance Department and have championed two ERP migrations & implementations, incorporated formalized policies & procedures into our processes, worked closely with our Branch Managers to educate and advise them on their financials to help make them successful, and act as our internal legal liaison with respect to Corporate & Operational matters.

Background

After attending the Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Windsor’s Odette School of Business, I accepted a position as the C.A.O. of a Registered Charity in Essex County, Ontario, where I learned the values of co-operation & leadership, having to report to and collaborate with a Board of Directors and three levels of Government on a regular basis, and lead people in their growth, leading them to meet self-implemented goals. I am currently completing my Designation as a Certified General Accountant.

Personal

In my spare time, my favourite thing to do is spend time with my wife Jodie and my four children. My children make every day a journey and learning experience and are usually good for a laugh or two. I’ve learned that no matter how successful you can become in a work setting, parenting is by far the most difficult job of all, where you learn as you go.
